Ilma Patel, Assistant Social Media Manager

Ilma Patel is the assistant Social Media manager for West Signals and is currently a junior. This is her 3rd year in Signals. Enjoying the art of captivating an event into an article, Patel is always looking forward to working with her team for an audience. Aside from Signals, Patel is the assistant athletic trainer with Mrs. Rodriguez. Patel enjoys finding new foods to eat, hanging out with friends and watching the sunset!

Audiences enjoyed an array of performances during Multicultural Day: French Club’s fashion show; dance routines from Filipino Culture Club and Black Culture Club; and a folktale reenactment from Taiwanese Chinese American Association. A passionate student body shed light on their culture, making for a very entertaining and informative show. Member and performer for Filipino Culture Club’s hip hop and traditional folk dance routines, Christine Huston (11) explained, “it’s great to show recognition to our culture club, and I think every culture does a great job on putting on amazing performances.”

As the second semester begins, students take advantage of the comforts of the new Warrior Loft as a quiet space to study. The Loft was originally created as a way to better utilize the library space. Now refurbished, the Warrior Loft provides an opening environment for students to both work and relax.

The West High Warriors prepare to face off against the Peninsula Panthers. The night of September 9 was filled with cheers and roars from the audience during the Varsity football game. Fans at the edge of their seats watched the West Warriors fight hard in order to maintain their lead of 28-0 at halftime. In the end, the Warriors secured the win with a score of 28-21.
