The New Warrior Loft

February 23, 2023

If you need a calm, quiet place to study, as you proceed into the second semester, the new Warrior Loft is the place for you!

The Warrior Loft is located inside the library on the second floor. It is now officially open for students during lunch, after school, and throughout the day and after school. It includes new chairs, tables, whiteboards, and couches for students to relax while they work. The Loft is especially useful during finals week, as it provides students a comfortable environment to study.

Simran Bhattacharya (11), who visits the new Loft around three to four times a week, expressed: “The Warrior Loft is a great quiet place to work independently during after-school practice . . . it helps to have a separate area to work.” The Loft has provided many students with a safe space.

Principal Mrs. Murata played a large part in creating the Loft. She spent most of the previous school year gathering money and working hard to create what the Loft is today. She explained, “when I got here as a principal and walked through the space, I thought it could be so much better utilized for students to be able to have a place to study and connect with each other.” Mrs. Murata also said that the idea for the Loft was in production for about a year, and the school “spent most of last year raising funds” for the Loft to be what it is today.

Nylah Lyons (10), who often visits the loft, expressed: “When I first saw the Loft, I was immediately impressed by the visibly modern furniture . . . it was very appealing.” Lyons also included how the Loft was like “love at first sight.”

Students can visit the Loft anytime throughout the school day and after school as long as a supervisor is present. The library has extended its hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. As long as a supervisor is present, students can use the Loft to study in the comfort of a modernized space.
