If clowns aren’t already the scary topic about this Halloween, why not add a creepy treat to your Halloween aesthetic? These spooky witch fingers are guaranteed to be conversation starter at any party. To learn how make these treats, keep on reading!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 cup confectioners sugar
3/4 cup almonds
1 tube red decorating gel
Directions:
Add the softened butter, egg, almond extract, sugar, and vanilla extract to a large bowl.
Mix the ingredients with an electric mixer (hand mixer if you have the strength) and gradually add in the baking powder, flour, and salt.
Refrigerate this bowl for 20-30 minutes.
While waiting for the bowl in the refrigerator, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease the baking sheets to prevent sticking.
After 20-30 minutes, remove the mixture from the refrigerator. Separate the mixture into small sections on wax paper. Roll the dough into a finger shape. Put one almond in the end of each finger to act as a fingernail. Add any other details such as knuckles and wrinkles at your own desire . Arrange the finger treats on the baking sheets.
When the oven is preheated, bake the finger cookies in for about 20-25 minutes.
Once the cookie is done baking, take off the almond from each cookie. In the place of the fingernail indent, put the red decorating gel. Finally, add on the almond again to make the gel ooze out of the finger.
You are now done with the spooky witch finger treats! Let the cookies cool and enjoy with friends and family (or by yourself). It’s Halloween, treat yourself and be safe from clowns!
