The West High Girls Varsity Volleyball team lost their games against Redondo on October 8, by 12:25 and 21:25. Captain Katie Colin (12), the team’s captain, felt that the team’s talent could have easily beaten the other team, but because West High team was “trying to work up the scores,” the game did not go as well. She felt that the team was playing a constant game of “catch up.” Colin also remarks that the team was “inconsistent and their defense and passing was not exactly right.”
Despite the loss, the team is working hard to advance. They practice from two to three hours a day to improve their serving, passing, hitting, and scrimmaging. Although its loss was frustrating for the team, the players are now determined to win the next match.
