Get Your Pink On With ASB

Haley Guinn, Co-Editor in Chief

In recognition and support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ASB has planned a “Pink Out” for the upcoming home game on Friday, October 6, at 7pm.

West has been hosting “Pink Out” games every year now.  Katie Timmerman (12), Vice President of ASB, described the goal of the night.  She said, “Since October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we like to participate in any way we can. The past couple of years, we have done a “pink out” at games to mix it up a little, but the main goal is to raise awareness and support our football team.”

At the front gate, ASB will be selling glow sticks, t-shirts, bandanas, foam light-up sticks and baked goods. They will also be collecting donations for hurricane relief.

Haley Jones (12), Senior Class President, also shared her reason for supporting breast cancer awareness. She said, “The fact that it impacts so many women makes it very important to myself, personally to make sure [that] we as a school are aware. Also, my aunt is a breast cancer survivor and she is one of my biggest role models with the way she fought and never gave up in battle.”

Come support West High Warrior Football and Breast Cancer Awareness on Friday by wearing pink!
