It’s that time of the year again: West High School is up for review by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With six-year interval visitations, WASC ensures that all schools have a plan to improve their education, acknowledging students who have fallen behind and implementing innovation.
The committee came today, for the first time since three years ago, to oversee that West High is up-to-date with the plan it proposed. This is an accreditation or a “checkup” that determines how well the school is helping students improve.
Mrs. Schenkelberg collaborates with Mrs. Marsiglia and “the Leadership Team, [as well as] with the department chairs, monitoring the process of the WASC document to see the improvements of the action plan. The schools are making sure that test scores are improving and English language learners are learning quickly and efficiently.”
