Snoop Dogg Pulls the Trigger

The 2017 presidential election sparked controversy across the globe. Many people were overjoyed at the fact that Donald Trump was the new president for the next four years. However, anti-Trump supporters were in denial.

One of the many was rapper Snoop Dogg, who recently attacked President Trump via his music video titled “Lavender.” In the video, Snoop mock-assassinated a clown with resemblance to the US President.

Trump and other Republican politicians were appalled by the video, with the President himself tweeting: “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”

Rapper, Bow Wow, tweeted back at Trump for the comment directed towards Wow’s former mentor and said: “Ayo @realDonaldTrump shut your punk a** up talking s*** about my uncle @SnoopDogg before we pimp your wife and make her work for us.”

In response to this, Fox’s anchors verbally attacked Bow Wow as well as Snoop Dogg during a segment of The Five. Co-host, Greg Gutfeld, repeatedly insulted Bow Wow and said the rapper was “dumb and desperate,” “an obscure loser,” and “a sad little b*tch.”

Gutfeld went on to defend Melania Trump from Bow Wow’s comment about “pimping [Trump’s] wife” and said, “Little weenie just threatened the First Lady with sexual enslavement. I’d say that’s a crime and punishable by jail time.” However, Gutfeld claimed that jail time would be a “step up” for Bow Wow due to his plummeting career.

After Gutfeld’s monologue, the show continued with him asking Fox’s expert, Kimberly Guilfoyle, what the Secret Service should do to Bow Wow and Snoop Dogg.

“Kill them,” was Guilfoyle’s response, continuing with, “I think it would be fantastic if Snoop and wannabe-Snoop got a visit from, like, the federal marshals, and let’s see how tough and gangster they are then.”

This comment struck many people negatively due to the ongoing tension between law enforcement and the black community.

Politically aware, Audrey Kono (11) said, “Commentary like that… only creates more conflict since she’s involving herself in a problematic way. Increasing tension doesn’t solve a problem.”

Similarly, Mia Abrena (10), Black Lives Matter supporter, said, “I know [Guilfoyle] is stating her opinion, which is fine, but there are times when you just need to step back because some opinions can cause more trouble.”

Comedian Steve Harvey believes that Snoop and Bow Wow should just respect the new President instead of digging a hole for themselves. Harvey said, “The problem with this is that there’s an office in this country called the ‘President,’ and you have to respect the office. You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office.”

Bow Wow did delete his tweet about the Melania Trump as a form of apology, yet he has not verbally apologized at all. Snoop Dogg has not commented on the Trump situation either. Instead he has spent the past week sharing memes, photos, and videos of himself on Instagram and Twitter.
