Boys’ Soccer Takes Home Senior Night Victories

   On Feb. 1, the seniors of the West High Boys’ Soccer team proudly walked the field with their families by their sides. Ready to play against North High School — some for the very last time — applause followed the game’s kickoff. At the 13th minute, Sean Orpe (12) sent the ball into the lower right corner of the goal. In the second half, forward Dane Paulson (12) scored a penalty kick. An additional dramatic moment of the game: Nearing the end of the second half, a North High player marched towards the spectators and tore down Paulson’s ziptied senior poster in an intense game that ended with a 2-1 victory. Paulson noted that it was a game filled with emotions and that it “felt right to win [his] last game for the program.”
