Girls’ Soccer Takes Home Senior Night Victories

With an exciting chill in the air, the West High Girls’ Soccer team faced El Segundo on Jan. 31 — a matchup awaited since last year’s exciting final. The team’s seniors filed out onto the field with gleaming smiles on their faces. Spirit and pride surrounded the stadium as friends, family, and supporters cheered on the seniors who had worked so hard this season. In a close game, Skyler Schultz (12) shot the ball into the left lower corner to win the game with a 1-0 score. Schultz commented, “Having everyone I loved supporting me definitely motivated me more.” As a senior captain, she felt that playing against El Segundo pushed the team to work even harder. Although their playoff season has since concluded, the night ended with dignity and smiles, a true testament to the heart of the team.
