She May Be Imperfect, But Her Album Isn’t

The pop star singer, Mariah Carey, who produced such hits in “Hero” and “Always Be My Baby” in the 1990s and her recent singles “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body,” has released her newest album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.”

She is considered one of the most influential pop star explained that the inspiration for the album title came from the idea that she, was imperfect” even if she does strive to become more godly. According to Mariah Carey’s interviews, the “memoirs” refers to the reflection of past albums, from “Mariah Carey” to “E=MC2.” Before releasing her album, she told the public that she hopes that her upcoming works resemble that of the works from her previous album, “Butterfly”, which showed much of Carey’s freedom in singing.

Her first single that was released this past summer on July 6, is called “Obsessed” which gives references to Mariah Carey and Eminem’s rift. Apparently, Eminem had wrote a song, “Bagpipes from Bagdad”, telling Nick Cannon, Carey’s wife, to back off of Mariah Carey and that Mariah was all his, and “Obsessed” was the Mariah’s comeback. Although she had insisted that the song was based on her favorite movie, Mean Girls, Eminem released another single, “The Warning” directed personally to Carey. Despite such conflicts between two artists, the song managed to reach its peak as number 11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Mariah Carey’s second single, “I Want to Know What Love Is” is the cover of Foreigner’s song, which came out in the ‘80s. Although she didn’t produce this song, Mariah was able to incorporate her own unique tones into the song, including her high registers.

Her new album “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” is predicted to have attracted a multitude of customers. Her songs on the album including “H.A.T.E.U.”, “Angels Cry”, “Ribbon”, and “It’s a Wrap” are sure to capture the appeal of many Mariah Carey fans. Hopefully, her album can reach even higher consumer appeal.
